1 cup flour
½ cup salt
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup water
1 tsp vegetable oil
Lots of cinnamon, allspice, ginger, ground cloves and nutmeg (really anything you have)
Mix flour, salt and cream of tartar in a sauce pan. In a separate small bowl mix all the spices together to create the color and scent you want, then add it to the flour mixture. Mix the water and oil together, then add it to the flour mixture. Turn heat on medium and cook the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes stirring frequently. The dough will start to thicken as it heats. Once most of the dough has thickened, remove from heat. Sprinkle some flour on the counter and spoon play dough onto it. Knead dough until soft and smooth. Allow to cool and then store in an airtight container.
